At Cash Canada the protection of our customers’ personal information is very important, and we have developed a privacy policy and procedures dealing with the protection of our customers’ privacy. Our Privacy Policy is based on the Canadian Standards Association’s Model Code for the Personal Information Protection and Electronics Documents Act (PIPEDA), and on the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Any questions about this policy can be directed to the Cash Canada Privacy Officer at Privacy@CashCanada.com.
Cash Canada employees play an important role in protecting customers’ personal information. Our employees are required to adhere to this policy, and take all reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is protected from unauthorized access.
COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION:
We collect personal information from our customers for the following purposes only:
1. To adequately identify our customers as prescribed by municipal bylaws.
2. To protect our customers against error and fraud.
3. To understand our customers needs and preferences. Cash Canada maintains a record of the products and services customers receive from us, and we may ask for additional personal information to ensure that we are providing the best possible service to our customers.
4. To improve, develop, or provide products and services. Cash Canada keeps track of the products and services that our customers purchase from us so that we are consistently providing the products and services our customers need and want.
5. To apply, on behalf of customers, for services that they require. For example, we will collect personal information to apply for services such as Western Union money order/transfer services and Tembo telephone reconnection services.
Cash Canada will only use a customer’s personal information for the purposes outlined above. If we need to use customers’ personal information for any other purpose, we will contact customers and obtain their consent prior to that use.
Cash Canada will disclose pawn customers’ personal information to law enforcement agencies and service providers (e.g. Western Union, Tembo) only. We disclose this information in order to comply with municipal bylaws, and to supply the products and services our customers require. We do not disclose or sell our customers’ personal information to third parties for any other purposes.
Only authorized Cash Canada personnel have access to customers’ personal information. Cash Canada policies and procedures are designed to protect customers’ personal information from error, loss and unauthorized access. Every Cash Canada employee is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all personal information that they have access to. Cash Canada employees, as a condition of employment, are required to sign a confidentiality agreement binding them to this responsibility.
Cash Canada customers have the right to withdraw consent for our collection, use or disclosure of their personal information at any time. However, if customers do so it will affect their ability to obtain collateral loan and other services. If a customer wishes to withdraw consent, or has any questions about withdrawing consent, he or she can contact our Privacy Officer.
CONSENT:
In most cases customers consent to us collecting, using and disclosing personal information for the purposes outlined above by simply agreeing to provide us with their personal information.
STORING CUSTOMERS’ PERSONAL INFORMATION:
Cash Canada will only keep personal information for as long as is necessary for the purposes of complying with municipal bylaw and law enforcement requirements, and any other applicable rules and regulations. To protect our customers’ personal information, we have implemented appropriate security safeguards. When we no longer need the information it is destroyed.
Customers’ personal information will be as accurate, complete and up-to-date as possible. Customers can assist us to keep information as accurate as possible by providing us with updated information when necessary.
